Update - Marsh Drug Dealers arrested |
||
You may remember in January 2025, I told you about a number of drug warrants we executed in the Marsh area of Lancaster. I thought I would provide you with a quick update.
At the time I informed you that a 45 year old female from The Marsh who was within one of the addresses of the warrants was arrested for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. Unfortunately there was insufficient evidence to charge this female on this occasion and she was released from custody. Two weeks later, Emily Coulton, 45 years old of Chestnut Grove, Lancaster was arrested for possession with intent to supply cocaine. Preston Crown Court heard that on the 4th February 2025, police from Lancaster and Morecambe Task Force saw Coulton in Lancaster City Centre and used their powers under section 32 of the Misuse of Drugs Act to stop and search her. Numerous wraps of what was confirmed to be cocaine was found on her person. Further enquiries were conducted at a nearby property which Coulton had been staying at and further cocaine was located as well as cash over £6,000. The court found Coulton guilty and sentenced her to four years imprisonment and ordered a deprivation order of the cash recovered.
Another person who was arrested in January 2025, was a 19 year old male from The Marsh on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug. The investigation into the drugs continues however I can update you that your local neighbourhood officers have been working closely with the private housing association who owned the property the male lived in. The housing association through evidence provided by the police have successfully evicted the male, investigated the tenant for tenancy fraud and the property will very soon be in a fit state to allow a new grateful family to move in. This is great news for the area, showing that alongside criminal investigations that the police conduct we will work in partnership with other agencies to remove these people from our communities through any means necessary.
Three other arrests were made at the time from other the drug warrants and these investigations are also continuing. Unfortunately the investigations can take sometimes take time due to protracted enquiries.
We can only ever get these results from working with our communities. You can report any information you have on these people to the police directly on our website or anonymously, through the independent charity, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at https://orlo.uk/6OwZv.
